Infrared sauna

The warmth radiated in this sauna directly heats the objects without heating the air in-between. This warmth is also called infrared energy (IR). Infrared radiation is not related to ultraviolet or microwave radiation. Our sun produces most of its energy output in the infrared segment of the spectrum. According to Dr. Tsu-Tsair Oliver Chi this radiation is absorbed by body tissues. This process is related to the number of healing reactions. In the above mentioned system of treatment infrared radiation is similar the sun heat or natural heat of our bodies. Infrared electromagnetic waves used in infrared saunas directly heat the body. During the process of convection infrared waves penetrate human body up to 4 centimeters (in comparison to ordinary sauna – the body heats up to 3-5 mm because the surrounding heat is blocked by the body itself). This kind of deep infrared heat penetration provides body with heat energy and improves its condition: heats up tissues, muscles, joints and stimulates the flow of the blood and other body fluids. Infrared energy systems heat the air less than 20% and over 80% are directed to heat our body.
At the temperature of 40-60°C infrared sauna leads to 2 or 3 times higher sweating than the normal sauna at the temperature of 90-100°C. That is why it is very safe for children and people with heart and vascular disorders. It is possible to be longer and more relaxed in the infrared saunas.
